Work Week Weather: Start with Storms

Thunderstorms could produce isolated strong winds or large hail this afternoon and evening—and possibly again on Tuesday.

“With plenty of moisture being pulled into the northeastern United States today, a strong but slow-moving front will force strong thunderstorms to fire on Monday,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Evan Duffey said.

Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds...small hail...frequent lightning and heavy rainfall this afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Tonight-Showers or thunderstorms likely in the evening...then showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds...small hail...frequent lightning and heavy rainfall in the evening. Lows in the mid 60s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph in the evening. Chance of rain 70 percent.
• Tuesday-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the morning...then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and small hail in the afternoon. Highs around 80. South winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming southwest in the afternoon. Gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening...then mostly clear after midnight. Lows around 60. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening. Chance of rain 30 percent.
