Working for the Betterment of Our Children
Legislator Harriet Cornell and East Ramapo School Superintendent Deborah Wertham attended the 2016 New York State Community Schools Network convening on Aug. 2 at the University of Albany.
Joining them from Rockland were Judith Johnson, NY State Board of Regents; Debra Thomas, Director of Rockland’s Teachers Center Institute; Rebecca Christner, Administrator of Rockland 21C and one of the conference convenors; and 21 C Family Resource Center Coordinators from Rockland BOCES and Nanuet School District.
The Community School Network focuses on the education and development of the whole child, the importance of family involvement, and the necessity of schools, families and community working together to benefit the child.
