WTCQGD was the brainchild of Sifu ( Cantonese, Honored Master, father) Bill Douglas fifteen years ago. With a cyber needle and thread, he got a few countries that had little pockets of Tai Chi players to choose one day a year and play Tai Chi and its sister art Qi Gong. WTCQGD has now grown to over 70 countries.
On the last Saturday of every April, millions gather at 10:00 am and take a collective breath. For a few moments, an hour, a day, countries put aside their differences and become one in peace.
Although we do not have a formal event this year as we have had in years past, we urge everyone to take a collective breath and keep Sifu Bill's dream alive in our little part of the world here in Nyack.
Thank you, blessings, Osu! (Japanese, yes, hello, good-bye, let it be done.)
