1 Injured in Route 9 House Fire
Called to a kitchen fire, responders saw flames when they arrived.
Initial reports Friday evening as firefighters converged on 22 N. Highland Ave. at 6:30 p.m. were that two children were not accounted for.
Firefighters simultaneously searched (there were no victims) and fought the blaze with the help of Croton and Briarcliff. Millwood and Pleasantville were on standby.
One member of the department was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening minor burns.

The fire flared back up at 10:45 p.m. Responders opened up more walls and ceilings and applied foam.
Route 9 was closed for several hours.
