Afternoon Lightning Strikes Possible: Hudson Valley Nor'easter
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement.

The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement at 1 p.m. for Rockland, Orange, Putnam and Westchester Counties.
At 1254 PM EST, A heavy snow band will move into and develop over the region through mid afternoon.
Isolated lightning strikes are likely.
Snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour are expected to develop through mid to late afternoon. Visibilities will drop quickly to near zero in this band of heavy snow.
Road conditions will rapidly deteriorate through mid afternoon, making travel very difficult to nearly impossible for the late afternoon and evening commute.
