ULSTER, NY — A Hudson Valley man thought he struck gold at the sewage treatment plant, but police say it turned out to be something else.
On Tuesday, Ulster Police Department detectives arrested 25-year-old Collin R. Beck, of Stone Ridge.
Between Aug. 8 and 9, the Ulster Police Department reports getting a series of calls about the theft of metal, including the theft of two aluminum doors that were taken from the Town of Ulster Sewer Plant, amounting to over $5000.00 each.
As the investigation developed, police say Beck became the primary suspect.
He was arrested and charged with felony third-degree grand larceny, and fourth-degree attempted grand larceny.
Anyone with information about this case, or similar incidents, is being asked to contact the Ulster Police Department Detective Division at 845-382-1111.
