Arbor Foundation Names Ossining a Tree City
The town was recognized for effective urban forest management in 2014.

Ossining NY was named a 2014 Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of effective urban forest management.
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Forests.
“Our commitment to creating a community that is sustainable for our children and grandchildren is one of the major goals for the Town of Ossining,” said Town Supervisor Sue Donnelly. “ Using appropriate native species of trees, shrubs and ground cover in the Town of Ossining parks and open space is essential for the future generations to enjoy with family and friends.”
