Assemblywoman Galef Greets District Interns at State Capitol to Discuss Assembly Workings

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef greeted four of her district office interns at the New York State Capitol on Monday, May 19th to allow them to gain a greater understanding of the legislative process. This trip led them to attend a press conference regarding a change in signage for the disability community, a visit to the Assembly chamber where they watched session and observed an Assembly committee meeting, and took a tour of the Capitol building.

The interns, Malahni Banta of Ossining High School, Andrew Coleman of Walter Panas High School, Jonathan Kimiadi of Hendrick Hudson High School, and Ryan Rosen of Briarcliff High School, all represented their high schools well while on their trip with Assemblywoman Galef. In addition to meeting several Assembly members, they were also introduced to Senator David Carlucci, who graciously led them on a tour of the State Senate chamber.

“I am so pleased that my interns had the opportunity to join me in Albany,” said Galef.  “This visit has helped give them a deeper understanding of the work that the members of our Assembly and Senate do, and showed them what occurs on a regular day at the Capitol.”
