Big Weather Changes On The Way For The Hudson Valley

Sweats and sweaters are back out for the weekend, but not for good. Here are the details.

This morning's low temperature in Poughkeepsie was below normal. Not even startling any more, seems we've been see-sawing from one extreme to another for months. Remember how chilly June was in the Hudson Valley?

Anyway, after a week that felt like July, this weekend will feel like fall. But don't put away all the short-sleeve shirts, because October will continue the abnormal trend in temps.

First, the next couple of days. There's actually potential for frost in upstate New York. And maybe thunderstorms on Saturday.

"A cool fall Friday ahead of us," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Looking to the weekend, Saturday is looking rather unsettled, while Sunday is looking outstanding."

Then, we're into October. And we may be challenging record highs, just like we were doing at the beginning of the week.
