Boy, Dog Rescued from Icy Cortlandt Lake

Heed the warning from Croton firefighters

Read the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department’s report (below) about the rescue operation carried out this afternoon near Route 129 and Mount Airy Road East, in an area so remote that some equipment was brought in by volunteers’ personal ATVs.

Croton Fire, Croton-On-Hudson EMS and Ossining EMS Paramedic were there as well as a helicopter from Westchester County Police Department; the Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD Dive/Water Rescue Team was backup that was fortunately unneeded.
