Candidates Forum - Village Trustee

The League of Women Voters of Northwest Westchester will be hosting a moderated, in-person, candidates’ forum for the office of Village Trustee in Croton on Hudson:

• Croton Municipal Building 1 Van Wyck Place, Croton on Hudson, NY
• Georgianna Grant Meeting Room, 2nd Floor

• Candidates: Mary Lynn Dlabola (VoC); Len Simon (D); Maria Slippen (D) 

All questions come from the public and must be submitted prior to the event. No questions will be taken from the floor. Candidates do not receive questions in advance.

The deadline for submission is Friday, October 4.

Final questions are formulated by the League of Women Voters of Northwest Westchester from those submitted. No questions will be taken during the forum. Candidates do not receive the questions ahead of time.

The moderators selected for each forum are trained by the League of Women Voters and reside outside of the voting district.

LVNWW will also be hosting Forums  for County Legislative District 9, NY State Senate District 40, and NY State Assembly District 95.  Details for these can be found at the link above.

In accordance with the League’s “Empty Chair Policy”, a candidate forum may proceed with participation of at least one candidate from each party. To date, LWVNWW has secured sufficient participation for these forums.

The mission of the League and its local affiliates is to empower voters by promoting informed citizen participation in government, and defending democracy. The League is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose candidates or political parties.

"2026 is a mid-term elections year with emphasis on the "s", says LWVNWW President Kathy Meany.  “Not only does Westchester County have many city/town/village elections, but the offices of Governor and two Congressional districts, NY State Assembly and NY State Senate are all in play.”
