CORTLANDT, NY — Several controversial projectsare on the Cortlandt Planning Board agenda for Tuesday, including plans for the Danish Home on the Cortlandt-Croton-Ossining border, a proposal to put an addiction treatment facility at the old Hudson Institute, and plans for a 93-room hotel on East Main Street.

The Hudson Ridge Wellness Center project on Quaker Ridge Road has been before town officials for years, as its owners seek to turn the old Hudson Institute, once home to a conservative American think tank now based in Washington, D.C., into an elite rehab center. Neighbors have been skeptical, forming Citizens for Responsible Hudson Institute Site Development. In 2015, the center sued the town alleging it was being illegally blocked. Since then it has moved forward slowly.

Also on the agenda: the Gurdjieff Foundation of New York bought the Danish Home for the Aged on the border of Cortlandt and Ossining after it closed post-pandemic. The nonprofit
