The best in local boys and girls basketball, from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and southern Dutchess, will be competing at the Westchester County Center in White Plains Feb. 27-March 4 in the Section 1 semifinals and finals for the right to hoist the Gold Ball.

From this neck of the woods,'s boys squad will be competing in its Section 1 Class B semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 against No. 2 Albertus Magnus.

On the girls side No. 1 will look to keep its dream season going when faces No. 4 John Jay-EF at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, March 1 in a Class AA semifinal.
