GoFundMe Campaign Starts After Maple Street Blaze

Several pets died in the fire.

UPDATE – A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Cianfaglione family, whose house was severely damaged in a devastating fire Monday in Croton that also killed five cats.


CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY – Two houses were damaged, one severely, when a fire broke out in the kitchen of a home on Maple Street Monday.

"Sadly, several family cats perished in the blaze," fire officials said.

Called to the fire at 3:30 p.m., Croton firefighters were assisted by Ossining, Yorktown Heights, Buchanan, and Montrose, with EMS support from Croton, Ossining and Peekskill. Montrose and Ossining were also on mutual-aid standby in Croton.

Five cats survived, but two died, according to The Journal News.
