CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — Called by someone who smelled gas, firefighters working with Con Edison located many leaks — both of natural gas and carbon monoxide — inside and on the roof of one of the buildings in the Riverside Avenue shopping plaza on Tuesday afternoon.

Gas was shut off to some units in the building due to leaking customer gas–delivery equipment, Allen Drury, a Con Ed spokesman, told Patch.

"The management company or property owner must hire a contractor to make repairs," Drury said. "Then we will ensure that the building is safe to receive gas.".
