Croton-Harmon To Hold Q&A Tuesday On Ballot Printing Problem

There is a regional problem with absentee ballots.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — Croton-Harmon school district officials will hold a question-and-answer session Tuesday at 5 p.m. to alert community members to the regional problem with absentee ballots.

"It was our intention for voters to have already received their absentee ballots. Unfortunately, we were informed by the printing company that the ballots would not be mailed on the date expected," wrote District Clerk Tracey Borges. "Though this is understandable with 700 districts in the state on the same timeline, we were expecting that our expeditious handling and diligent management of this responsibility would prevent any delays."

Borges said the district hired a printer who promised that the ballots would be mailed on Monday, June 1.

Since ballots must be received by the district by 5 p.m. June 9, district officials encourage residents to fill out and return the ballot as soon as they receive it.
