Croton-Harmon SD School Board & Budget Election Results Are In

The voters decided on the $59M Croton-Harmon schools budget and which candidates will serve on the board of education.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The ballots are in and voters have decided on the 2024 budget and school board.

The proposed spending plan of $58,798,307 was passed by voters, with 522 voting yes and 92 voting no.

The new budget is 4.67 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to rise 2.14 percent.

District officials said that the budget will support: instruction, employee benefits, general support, debt service, transportation and interfund transfers.

"Our budget has been developed with a view toward the next several school years," Superintendent Stephen Walker said. "Through the proposed budget, we include funding for infrastructure and transportation improvements, and seek to build on our progress to provide an educational experience that enriches each and every student academically and emotionally."

Two, three-year term board seats were up for election. Omar Mayyasi (incumbent) and Ana Teague (incumbent) were elected to those seats.
