Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining Meetings Coming Up

OSSINING, NY — John Adams famously wrote, "Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right … and a desire to know."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Croton and Ossining.

Croton-on-Hudson

• The Croton Planning Board meets at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
• Grievance Day is Wednesday. The village Board of Trustees will hear tax assessment grievances from 4-8 p.m. before the work session.

Ossining

• The Town Board cancelled its scheduled work session Tuesday due to the annual Association of Towns meeting Feb. 19-22, "which is attended by many Town officials and employees, including members of the Town Board, and which provides valuable insight, guidance and education that assists in Town operations," Town Supervisor Elizabeth Feldman said in an email to residents.
• The village Board of Trustees will hold a work session at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Municipal Building.
