Diana R. Grass Services Set for Thursday

She was a nursing assistant who volunteered caring for abandoned infants.

Ossining, NY — Diana R. Grass née Ruffalo passed away on July 2, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Diana was born in Mount Vernon, NY on June 17, 1930 to Cora and Louis Ruffalo. She graduated from Davis High School. A trained nursing assistant, she volunteered her time to care for abandoned infants at the New York Foundling. Diana also worked at American Airlines in the Personnel Department before raising her family. Later in her life Diana returned to volunteering, spending 25 years at Phelps Memorial Hospital. During her illness, she never gave up hope that she would be able to return so that she could continue giving back.

Diana was devoted to her family and friends. She had a special ability to sense when people needed extra love or support and an endless capacity to nurture and comfort. Her home, and her heart, were open to all.
