Donate To Ossining's Baker-Collyer Cheer Fund

It's been 102 years since a local merchant who had seen 2 hungry children picking through garbage created a generous community charity.

OSSINING, NY — The Baker-Collyer Christmas Cheer Fund was started by an Ossining merchant who witnessed two children picking through a garbage pile for food 102 years ago. It has started to solicit contributions for this year’s drive.

Over 360 local needy families in the Ossining area were aided through last year’s generous community efforts. The fund goes solely to purchase food for the holiday baskets. The administration efforts are handled by volunteers and the baskets are packed and delivered by members of the Ossining Volunteer Fire Department and other community members.

Please consider being part of this 102-year tradition. Tax deductible contributions can be sent to the Baker-Collyer Cheer Fund, c/o John Crawford, Chairman, PO Box 508, Ossining, NY 10562 or by calling 914-438- 9843 or johncrawford508@gmail.com.
