WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — This handful of activities in the arts is suggested for your weekend entertainment by the Westchester Arts Council.
FRI, MAY 5 THROUGH SUN, MAY 7:
Crafts at Lyndhurst
Artrider Productions invites families and art lovers to a weekend packed with art and shopping experiences, just in time for Mother’s Day. The 3-day Crafts at Lyndhurst festival will celebrate all-things-handmade by showcasing 300 contemporary artists, designers and craftspeople. The family-friendly event also offers creative activities for children and adults, such as hands-on demonstrations, face painting, live music and more. Begins at 10am.

Beginning this Friday, Actors Conservatory Theatre brings Reginald Rose’s classic Twelve Angry Jurors to its stage. Set in a NYC jury room in 1957, this drama follows a jury of 12 that must decide the fate of an 18-year-boy who is accused of killing his father. Performances will continue on select days through May 13. Times vary.
SAT, MAY 6:
"Mad Hatter" Drink & Draw Event
This Saturday, audiences are invited to New Rochelle Arts Collective’s Mad Hatter Tea Party, an uninstructed figure drawing session that is open to artists of all levels. The event features a live model, drinks by Diner Brew Co., music and more. The "drink and draw" event will take place in ArtsWestchester’s gallery, surrounded by artwork from its From the Streets exhibition. Begins at 6:30pm.
SAT, MAY 6 & SUN, MAY 7:
A World of Quilts XXXVIII
On Saturday and Sunday, the Northern Star Quilters’ Guild will host A World of Quilts XXXVIII. The event will feature lectures and vendors in addition to a showcase of 300 quilts. Special exhibits will include works from quilters Liza Prior and Rayna Gillman, as well as a 50-foot-long quilt that depicts 25 locations along the Farmington River. Begins at 4pm.
SAT, MAY 6 & SUN, MAY 7:
Yonkers Arts Weekend
This Saturday and Sunday, the fourth annual Yonkers Arts Weekend will showcase exhibits and performances by hundreds of artists throughout the City. This festival includes a Kite Festival at Hudson River Museum, open studios by YoHo Artists, free tours at Untermyer Park and Gardens and a variety of other arts experiences. Other participating organizations include Blue Door Art Center, Yonkers Pottery, Urban Studio Unbound and more. Times and locations vary.
