Yoga for breast cancer are a diverse offering of free classes taught by a rotation of qualified instructors, in movement, yoga, and meditation organized by laughing hearts yoga. These classes offer a nurturing yoga studio to practice together and share their healing energy, as they connect with their inner focus to revitalize, instill confidence, and self-awareness of their power to heal themselves.

More researchers are turning to yoga practice as a noninvasive method to help women with breast cancer during and after their treatment.  According to Jonathan Batchelor’s article Yoga Benefits Patients with Breast Cancer, research presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology states that emotional and physical benefits are derived when taking yoga classes. Fatigue is decreased, and physical functioning and cortisol levels are improved in women with breast cancer undergoing radiation treatment.

Enthusiastic, fluid yoga classes are led by Solange LaBonne RYT, AADP, CHHC to encourage flexibility in the mind body and spirit.  Meditation classes are led by Amy Newman LMSW and pyschospiritual counselor, who was diagnosed with stage 2-breast cancer in 2009 and has undergone extensive surgery, medication and chemotherapy. Tina Maxwell, Co-Director of Dance on Hudson, leads the movement classes that nurture the spirit and heart through dance, creativity and laughter. These teachers are Croton residents, and are pleased to have an opportunity to give back to the powerful women who are moving forward with their lives.

Hudson Yoga is located at 5 Old Post Road, Croton on Hudson, NY 10520. Due to the intimate space, registration is required for the free classes to fit everyone comfortably!
