Fire Destroys Gordon Avenue Home

OSSINING, NY — A fast-moving after-midnight fire on Gordon Avenue totally consumed a single-family home Tuesday.

Briarcliff and Ossining firefighters were called and firefighters from several neighboring communities helped fight the blaze, including Chappaqua, Croton, Buchanan, Millwood, Hawthorne, Pleasantville and Pocantico Hills.

The house was completely involved at 2 a.m. Backhoes were on the scene Tuesday morning knocking down the remains of the 2-story building and checking for hot spots.

The family was able to escape, News 12 reported.
