Frost In Much Of Hudson Valley Overnight: Update
Here's the latest on how the weekend is shaping up. Gardeners should prepare and apple and pumpkin pickers should make plans.

It's going to be cold overnight across the Hudson Valley. A frost advisory has been issued for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam and Ulster counties. Even communities in Rockland and northern Westchester counties will see some patchy frost, the National Weather Service predicts.
Gardeners should prepare while apple and pumpkin pickers should make plans.
At home, gardeners should pull green tomatoes off the vines, to eat or to let ripen. Cover other vegetables and herbs to try to protect them from the cold at night.

Now also is the time to bring any houseplants that you keep outside in the summer inside overnight. That will not only protect them from the frost, but, start to get them acclimated again to the indoors. Check first for bugs.
The cold front swooping in from upstate Friday afternoon means widespread 30s for low temperatures will occur in many places in the Hudson Valley, the National Weather Service warns.
