Hazardous Outlooks: More Storms Headed To The Hudson Valley
Prepare for potentially flooding rainfall.
The National Weather Service has issued new Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the Hudson Valley.
Showers and scattered thunderstorms are predicted for Monday afternoon and evening. Occasional showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday into Tuesday night. Areas of heavy rain are likely, with the potential for more widespread flash flooding. If conditions become more certain, a Flash Flood Watch would be issued, the NWS said. "Our unsettled weather pattern continues across the Hudson Valley, as we really cannot shake out of the low clouds and humidity," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "This pattern will stick with us into the start of the work week, before slowly exiting the region toward mid-week."

It's not just the tri-state area. Communities in areas from the Delmarva through central Pennsylvania, the southern tier of New York and Long Island should prepare for potentially flooding rainfall on Monday, said Faith Eherts, AccuWeather meteorologist.
Several inches of rain are expected, and the ground is so saturated it will have trouble absorbing it all, forecasters warn.

Poor drainage and low-lying areas flood the fastest. Remember, don't drown, turn around. You can't tell if the road has washed out underneath all that murk on a flooded street.
The good news in the forecast: dry weather will finally return on Wednesday.
