Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Hudson Valley

Strong to locally severe thunderstorms are possible with gusty winds and hail the main threat in the Hudson Valley, NYC, NJ and western LI.

The National Weather Service issued hazardous weather outlooks for Tuesday.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties:

There is a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms developing late this afternoon into this evening along a warm front. The main threat will be damaging winds and large hail, however, an isolated tornado is possible. The threat is highest just west of the NYC metro. Monitor subsequent NWS forecasts for the latest information on this severe threat.

For Dutchess and Ulster counties:

There is a marginal risk for strong to isolated severe thunderstorms this afternoon into the early evening with large hail and damaging winds the main threats.

"There may be more showers and storms rolling through the Northeast on Wednesday and again on Thursday," said Renee Duff, AccuWeather meteorologist. "There can be the risk of severe storms yet again on both of these days."
