HUDSON VALLEY, NY — We're going to see summer-like weather throughout Memorial Day weekend. That means sunny and hot with repeated chances for thunderstorms.
- Saturday starts off the warm-up, with sunny skies and temps around 80 degrees F. Then there's a chance of thunderstorms after sunset until about 3 a.m..
- Sunday temps will hit the upper 80s. There's a slight chance of showers in the morning and then thunderstorms possible after 3 p.m. Then thunderstorms are possible again after sunset until about 3 a.m.
- Monday it'll be partly sunny with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s.
"While the worst of the severe weather is expected around the southern Great Lakes, showers and thunderstorms can spread over New England and the mid-Atlantic Saturday afternoon and night," said Kristina Pydynowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.
The Hudson Valley region will be positively balmy compared to the extreme storms expected around the Great Lakes, the record high temperatures expected in the Deep South and Southeast, the snow possible in the Rockies where temps will be as much as 20 degrees below normal, or compared to the Plains where excessive rain will bring more risk of flooding.
