Hudson Valley Dominates the Best Places to Teach in New York

Where are the best New York school districts to teach? New rankings by Niche.com, a company which researches data on public and private K-12 schools, has answered that question, using information about teacher salary, experience and attendance. The rankings also take into consideration the districts' academic, safety and resources.

The Hudson Valley showed up very well in the rankings, with 7 of the Top 10 and 42 in the Top 100, dominating the list as does Long Island Not surprising, given the company's conclusions that communities that strongly support their schools get the best grades.

"A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers who are offered excellent support and compensation," according to Niche.com.

The website says the ranking provides a "comprehensive assessment of the quality, support, and compensation a district provides to its teachers."

The list was created using data form various government and public sources, as well as opinion-based survey responses from current students, recent alumni and parents
