Hudson Valley Forecast: Plan Outdoor Excursions Before Christmas
Here's an update on the lead-up to the weekend whether you're traveling or staying at home.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Looks as if there could be something falling from the sky all right on Christmas Eve — but it wouldn't be snow.
A mostly sunny work week with daytime temperatures swinging between the high 30s and mid 40s will dissolve into a 50 percent chance of rain with temps around 50 when we hit the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
We're not alone.

"A white Christmas is looking more and more like it will be just a dream for a large chunk of the contiguous United States," said Adriana Navarro, AccuWeather staff writer. "The East Coast was already forecast to have lower-than-normal chances of snow, but now chance in the central and southern Appalachians will drop as well."
If you're traveling this week, the news is mixed. Conditions should be good on the East Coast and in the South (even in Florida after Monday's rainstorm passes through). The West and Northwest, not so much. And for Chicago, which still hasn't gotten any snow, conditions will only be fair, AccuWeather meteorologists predicted.
