OSSINING, NY — Keep this under your hat, but some of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley are pulling out all the stops, just as the summer weather calls us away from the kitchen table and outside for culinary adventures at someone else's table.

The Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce announced the 2nd annual "Hungry on Hudson" Ossining & Briarcliff Manor Restaurant Week will take place from Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 14. Organizers describe the event as "an exciting annual celebration of local flavor, community pride, and small business support" with over two dozen participating restaurants and cultural partners.

"From fan-favorite eateries to creative cultural experiences," organizers say the 10-day event will highlight what makes Ossining a popular destination for food lovers and community explorers.

Organizers say that this year, thanks to Hungry on Hudson's Community Impact Sponsors, over 100 hot meals have already been given back to the community, with more direct-impact efforts underway to support the work of those solving the problem of local food insecurity. The Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Chamber Members Gullotta House and Ossining Food Pantry to make sure that the positive efforts of Hungry on Hudson serve the entire community.

The Ossining Chamber of Commerce is also partnering with new startup Buzlee to share special events throughout the week. The app aims to be a digital community bulletin board, "bringing people together by location, not algorithms or likes." The chamber says the app is "a trusted, easy way to discover what's happening locally while giving businesses and nonprofits a powerful, cost-effective way to share their buzz with everyone."

On Friday, June 5, the Chamber of Commerce will host a free screening of "National Treasure" in Market Square, with pre-show dining encouraged at local participating restaurants. Families are invited to bring chairs and blankets for the under-the-stars experience, which will start around 8:45 p.m.

In addition, on Friday, June 12, there will be a FIFA watch party at Ossining Riverworks, with food by Brothers Fish and Chips, drinks by Here Coffee + Beer, and projection by Optix. Find out more information and purchase tickets, here.

"This initiative, completely free to participating businesses, wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our sponsors — including our Grand Sponsor, WBP Development; Gold Sponsor, Sing Sing Prison Museum; Silver Sponsor, Buzlee; Bronze Sponsor, Budget Blinds of Ossining; and Community Impact Sponsors, Up The River Dispensary and AAA Nolan's Auto Collision," Young said. "We are grateful to our incredible Chamber of Commerce team and our event partner, MacaroniKid Northern Westchester. This team effort and commitment to Ossining and Briarcliff Manor's small businesses and vibrant downtowns has made this week possible. Whether you're a longtime local or a first-time visitor, Hungry on Hudson offers the perfect excuse to experience Ossining at its very best. Bring your appetite — and your sense of adventure."
