There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms today, mainly during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Some thunderstorms will be capable of producing damaging winds as storms develop ahead of a cold front. Thunderstorms will generally move west to east at 40 to 45 mph.

The storms will be the roughest day of a sunny and warm stretch that's expected to last through the weekend, the NWS forecast shows.

Temperatures will climb into the 80s by Saturday. Monday will be still warmer, with a high that could reach 90, as another possible thunderstorm approaches, the forecast says.
