HV Weather: Storms To Break Up Humidity Temporarily

Here's the latest timeline for when storms are expected to arrive in the Hudson Valley Wednesday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Heat indices will once again rise into the mid 90s to around 100 this afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop into this evening, some with strong gusty winds.

The good news is that the humidity will drop a little on Thursday. Sadly, it will climb back up the next day. Here's the predicted hourly change in heat index, wind, humidity, rain and thunder from now into Friday:

Hourly forecast, central Westchester, Aug. 8, 2018/ National Weather Service

Any storms that do form will be heavy rain producers. Some communities could be hit with multiple storms, said AccuWeather Meteorologist Max Vido. Gusty storms that would normally be relatively harmless could easily uproot and topple trees in the saturated soil.
