IFCA Breaks Ground On Affordable Housing Renovations
The grant of $295,845 will be used for exterior and interior building renovations at two IFCA owned properties.
OSSINING, NY — IFCA and Ossining village officials recently celebrated the renovation of affordable housing with a groundbreaking ceremony.
In 2016, the Village and IFCA Housing Network signed an agreement for IFCA to administer a Community Development Block Grant awarded to the Village by the New York State Office of Community Renewal.
The grant of $295,845 will be used for exterior and interior building renovations at two IFCA owned properties — 19 Hamilton Street and 49-51 State Street, both located in the Village of Ossining. IFCA’s building at 19 Hamilton Avenue provides affordable workforce housing to six families and its 49-
51 State Street building houses four apartments, also preserved as affordable workforce housing.
“The Village of Ossining is committed to expanding safe, affordable and accessible housing opportunities
for our residents," said Victoria Gearity, Village of Ossining Mayor, in a statement about the grant and groundbreaking. "We are very pleased to support IFCA'ss dedication to investing in high quality affordable homes in our community. This project exemplifies the best of what a partnership between local government, a not-for- profit housing agency, and the NYS Office of Community Renewal strives to achieve.”
