Kudos to Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining Graduates from Firefighter Training
The volunteers received their Firefighter I certification in a big ceremony Dec. 15. Thanks for your service!

A ceremony was held Dec. 15 to honor the volunteer firefighters who graduated from Westchester's Fire Academy, including several from the Croton-on-Hudson and Ossining volunteer departments.
In all, 147 firefighters from 49 volunteer fire departments received their certificates for completing Firefighter I training.
They are graduates of eight separate Firefighter I training sessions conducted during the past year at DES. Each class consisted of 96 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on training in essential firefighting tactics and skills.

The graduation exercise for Westchester’s newest volunteer firefighters took place at the Robert J. Schnibbe Jr. Support Services Building of the Department of Emergency Services, 35 Walker Road, Valhalla.
County Executive Robert P. Astorino and Commissioner John M. Cullen of the Department of Emergency Services addressed the graduates.
