Letter To The Editor: Carlucci Misleading Constituents
The writer is a Scarborough resident.

To the Editors:
I was surprised to get an error-riddled campaign letter last week from my NY State Senator David Carlucci (NYS District 38). His seven years of participation in the IDC, during which he sided with Republicans and caucused with them each session, had faded from memory even though his group disbanded just three short months ago. As a voter I was most disturbed by:
- his time-warp list of legislation, that failed to name any 2018 accomplishments and only referred to long-ago acts (NY marriage equality was in 2011)
- his feigned frustration regarding laws that “never made it to the Senate floor” (quite ironic since his IDC kept the Republicans in control to set that very agenda)
- his confusing claim of endorsement (the Democratic party decided not to endorse Carlucci in June, so he cited Andrea Stewart-Cousins support … then misspelled her name)
Voters in NY State Senate District 38 deserve better than this.

It would be nice if Senator Carlucci said ‘sorry’ about the damage done by his years in the IDC.
It would be better if our next Senator was a true-blue Democrat – someone trusted to stay a Democrat and pass progressive legislation to the benefit of all New Yorkers.
