Longtime Croton Fire Department Treasurer Resigns

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY— The longtime treasurer, and former chief, of the Croton Fire Department, resigned his post and is not a member of the department now. Gerry Munson also stepped down as battalion commander for the Westchester County Department of Emergency Service.

Munson’s resignation comes while state and county investigators look at possible financial improprieties at the Croton Fire Council, the Journal News said.

Financial irregularities were unearthed in February during an internal audit.
