Look for 'Happy Thought' Chalkboards Around Ossining

OSSINING, NY — Local theater school Theater O’s next production is PETER/WENDY by Jeremy Bloom. The play is a lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan. The play calls for hundreds of happy thoughts written over the set — and that's where you come in.

“The written happy thoughts that the script calls for seemed like an awesome opportunity to include our community in the building of this beautiful play," Artistic Director Jessica Irons says. "We will install ‘happy thought’ chalk boards in a variety of Ossining businesses. We invite the community to share their happy thoughts – anything from Grandma’s house to Lalapalooza to hot fudge sundaes...what makes you happy. These happy thoughts propel Peter & Wendy to fly. We hope the installation and participation of the community will give them similar joy.”

The Happy Thought Project Chalkboards will be installed at 6 Degrees of Separation Brewery, First Village Coffee, Hot Société Boutique, Good Choice Kitchen, Vaza Salon, Westchester Collaborative Theater, and Wobble Café beginning June 1.

PETER/WENDY will be performed at Theater O, 25 State Street, Ossining NY 10562 on June 22 at 8pm, June 23 at 8pm, June 24 at 3pm and 8pm. Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the door. Reservations are strongly recommended, as Theater O shows tend to sell out. Reservations can be made by emailing reservations@theater.org.

The PETER/WENDY cast includes: Aya Abdallah, Kwabena Boateng, Arrington Carr, Eoin Carr, Cavan Fahey, Jacob Irons, AJ Jeffrey, Frank Marrero, Nyasha Nyoni, Juliette Rogerson, Lily Rubenstein, Derek Rudley, Kate Ubriaco, Veronika Volcjak, Viktoria Volcjak. The play is directed by Jessica Irons, designed by Andrew Irons.

Eli Hersh is the stage manager. Henry Hoffman and Audrey Schnecker assistant direct. Teddy Dengler is the assistant designer.
