Metro-North's Wassaic Branch To Resume Service: UPDATE

Some early morning trains were cancelled.

1:45 p.m., Wednesday update: Harlem Line train service between Southeast and Wassaic will resume with the 3:43 p.m. train out of Grand Central Terminal and the 6:07 p.m. train out of Wassaic. Please listen for announcements at your station and continue to check this website for any updates.

Metro-North is reporting that there is good service on all other lines Wednesday.


As of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, there are 10 minute delays on the Hudson Line, due to equipment availability in the aftermath of Tuesday's thunderstorms. The Harlem Line has limited service and scattered delays between Southeast and North White Plains. Service remains suspended between Wassaic and Southeast.

Some trains on the Harlem Line will be cancelled and combined. Customers should expect delays and crowded conditions.

For Metro-North, the damage caused by Tuesday's storm will effect commuters north of White Plains. Limited service is anticipated between Southeast and North White Plains on the Harlem Line. Limited service is anticipated between Poughkeepsie and Croton-Harmon on the Hudson.

Service is suspended between Wassaic and Southeast.

There will be regular service between Croton-Harmon and Grand Central on the Hudson Line and regular service between North White Plains and Grand Central on the Harlem Line.

For Wednesday, Metro-North expects to operate regular train service on the New Haven Line.

The following AM Peak trains will be canceled and customers should expect delays and crowded conditions. Please listen for station announcements.

Hudson Line Canceled Trains

  • The 6:14 am train from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central Terminal (GCT)
  • The 6:40 am train from Poughkeepsie to GCT
  • The 7:03 am train from Poughkeepsie to GCT

Harlem Line Canceled Trains

  • The 4:47 am train from Southeast to GCT
  • The 5:10 am train from Wassaic to GCT
  • The 5:40 am train from Southeast to GCT
  • The 5:45 am train from Wassaic to GCT
  • The 6:12 am train from Southeast to GCT
  • The 6:28 am train from Wassaic to GCT
  • The 6:42 am train from Southeast to GCT
  • The 6:49 am train from Wassaic to GCT
  • The 7:02 am train from Goldens Bridge to GCT
  • The 7:51 am train from Southeast to GCT

In addition, the 6:57 am train from Southeast to GCT will make additional stops at Pleasantville at 7:34 am, Hawthorne at 7:38 am and Valhalla at 7:41 am.

Crews continue to work through the night to clear trees and repair third rail damage following the severe storm that hit the service territory Tuesday night. Please check the Metro-North website for any updates.
