There's a new king and queen atop New York's most popular baby names list.
Liam and Olivia were the top baby names in the state in 2015, according to new information released by the Social Security Administration.

Liam knocked Jacob out of the No. 1 slot for boys. Jacob was the top male name in New York in 2013 and 2014. Prior to that, Michael was the top boy's name in the state for nearly 50 years (yes, half a century).
For girls, Olivia replaced Sophia as the most popular name in 2015. Sophia was the top girls name in New York from 2011 to 2014.

Nationally, the top baby names in 2015 were Noah and Emma, which come in at No. 4 and No. 2, respectively, on the New York list.
