New Controls In Place After Croton Fire Department Scandal

Fire officials said "it has been a busy several months of us putting together a plan to prevent this from ever happening again."

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The Croton Fire Department has issued a statement to update the community on internal issues in the aftermath of Chief Jerry Munson's arrest. Gerald Munson, a former chief of the Croton Fire Department who also served as its treasurer, is accused of stealing more than $300,000 from the department over many years.

Department officials and members have taken a lot of steps for investigation and cleanup.
