Only Ossining Elementary Students To Return To Classrooms

District officials said more than 90 staff members are unable to come in due to coronavirus cases or contacts.

OSSINING, NY — Because more than 90 staff members in the Ossining school district cannot report for work in person due to the coronavirus, students at Ossining's middle and high schools will continue learning remotely Tuesday.

"I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding over the past few days," said Superintendent Ray Sanchez, announcing that Ossining High School and Ann M. Dorner Middle School will not reopen classrooms yet.

"We are experiencing some staffing challenges across the district which is causing us to continue with remote learning for tomorrow," he said. "As of 4 pm today, approximately 90 staff members are unable to report to work. We anticipate that this number will increase throughout the night."
