Ossining High School Students Provide Free Tax Assistance to Community
To participate in this free service, community members are encouraged to visit Ossining High School on Mondays from 4 pm to 8 pm.

Beginning on February 5, Ossining High School's Accounting and Business Club students are once again offering their expertise to the community through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. For over a decade, the program has provided invaluable assistance to individuals in need of tax preparation services.
Under the guidance of their accounting teacher Debra Jacoby, students have undergone rigorous training to become IRS-certified volunteers. They have studied tax laws, regulations, and gained practical experience in filling out tax forms. Moreover, they have developed a deep understanding of the various deductions and credits available to taxpayers, ensuring accurate and thorough assistance.
The VITA program at Ossining High School offers free tax help to individuals with incomes of $75,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-speaking taxpayers. Qualified individuals can receive free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing, all conducted by the knowledgeable students.
