Ossining Honors Three Seniors as Commended Students
Exceptional Scholars Recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for Academic Promise and Dedication to Excellence.

Ossining High School proudly announces that three of its outstanding seniors, Katelyn Battacharia, Aiden Fel, and Gabriel Sankar, have been recognized as Commended Students in the prestigious 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. This commendation is a reflection of their exceptional academic promise and their commitment to scholastic excellence. A Letter of Commendation from Ossining High School and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) will be presented to these admirable scholars by Principal LaToya Langley in a special ceremony.
Approximately 34,000 Commended Students from across the nation have been selected for this honor. While they will not advance in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, these Commended Students stand among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by excelling in the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
"We are immensely proud to recognize the accomplishments of Katelyn, Aiden, and Gabriel as Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program," said OHS Principal LaToya Langley. "Their dedication and commitment to academic excellence demonstrate outstanding potential for future success. These commendable students represent a valuable national resource, and we are confident that their bright futures will continue to shine."
