Ossining Man Accused Of Lewdness In Children's Shoe Department

Shoppers at Kohl's got more than they bargained for.

OSSINING, NY -- An Ossining man faces charges after apparently fondling his genitals through his pants while in the children's shoe section of Kohl's in Cortlandt.

On June 9, state police charged Jorge L. Valdovinos, 38, with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and public lewdness, a class B misdemeanor.

On June 8, police received a complaint of a suspicious person at the Kohl’s store located at 3008 East Main Street in Cortlandt. Store security officials called to say a man was observed entering the store on several occasions, going immediately to the children’s shoes department and then apparently touching his genitals over his pants while near children.

Later that evening he returned to the store and exposed himself to children again, police said.

Witnesses were able to obtain his license plate, and the suspect was identified as Valdovinos, police said. Valdovinos was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or bond.
