Ossining Man Charged after Thruway Hit-and-Run

State police allege he was intoxicated and had 8 suspensions on his license.

State police issued a press release Monday about an incident on the New York Thruway Sept. 11.

At about 5:59 a.m. that day, State Police responded to the report of a hit and run accident on I-87. The driver of the vehicle that fled, Taylor P. Smith, 24, of Ossining, NY was located and found to be intoxicated, police allege.

Additionally, Smith was found to have eight suspensions on his New York State Driver’s license.

Smith was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown where he refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in his system.

  • Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation

Smith was arraigned at the City of Yonkers Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.
