OSSINING, NY — Ossining school district residents approved a 2022-23 school budget on Tuesday and elected two trustees to the Board of Education.
The $151.5 million proposed budget was approved by a wide margin. The budget is a 8.37 percent spending increase over the current year and for the third year it comes with no overall hike in the school tax levy.
"Thank you @OssiningSchools community for supporting our school district budget," Superintendent Ray Sanchez said on Twitter.

Five candidates ran for two seats on the school board, including incumbent Melissa Banta; Maureen Boozang-Hill, who retired in 2021 after three decades as an educator in the district; and Christine Mangiamele, an educator who has taught in Ossining.
The Ossining Library board election was uncontested, with Amanda Curley, Althema Goodson, Meghan Huppuch and Cecilia Quintero running for the four seats.
