Ossining Schools Initiate Collaborative Effort for New Mascot Design
The district i seeking community involvement to help craft a fresh identity.
The Ossining Union Free School District (OUFSD) is pleased to announce the commencement of a comprehensive mascot development process in collaboration with the advertising agency, Joy Riot. The initiative aims to enhance school spirit, identity, and engagement.
In a commitment to transparency and community involvement, OUFSD is excited to share the detailed timeline for the mascot development process and invites all community members to participate.

In January, Joy Riot toured the district's schools to gain insights into the unique culture and values of each building. Focus groups and communication meetings were also conducted to inform the mascot development journey.
Moving into February, the district will begin developing a comprehensive quantitative survey to gauge broader sentiments within the community. Additionally, the district will be conducting hour-long virtual focus groups on February 5-6.

The survey will be sent out in March, accompanied by regular updates to keep the community informed. A compilation and analysis of survey responses will result in a detailed Quantitative Report.
As April unfolds, the district will conduct a short poll if necessary, gathering votes on three different mascot designs.
In the month of May, the final mascot design will be selected through a collaborative process involving key stakeholders. If required, a short poll will be conducted to gather votes on the different mascot designs.
Lastly, in June, the district will host a Board of Education meeting, where the final mascot design will be presented to the school board for approval, marking the conclusion of this exciting journey.
