Ossining Seniors Take Home Top Awards at Regional STEM Symposium
Elena Prisament secures first place in Behavioral Sciences category, advances to national Competition.

Three Ossining High School seniors were recognized for their outstanding achievements at the recent Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) regional competition. The students showcased their exceptional talents in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), bringing home top awards.
Elena Prisament claimed first place in the Behavioral Sciences category and secured the third position overall. Her noteworthy performance has earned her the opportunity to represent New York State in the National JSHS competition, scheduled to take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico this May.
Elena's trip expenses are fully covered, and she has also been awarded a $1,000 prize in recognition of her accomplishments.

Shae Shandroff secured third place in the Environmental Sciences category, while Thomas Cong demonstrated his talent in the Biomedical Sciences category, also claiming the third-place position in the state.
The Junior Science and Humanities Symposium is a prestigious event sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, aimed at recognizing and promoting the skills and dedication of high school students in STEM disciplines. Through scholarships and accolades for outstanding research, JSHS encourages and empowers students to pursue successful careers in STEM fields.
