Ossining Students Dominate at NYSMATA's Exemplary Media Arts Awards

32 Students Recognized for Outstanding Media Artistry, Including Four President's Award Recipients

The Lower Hudson Region of the New York State Media Arts Teachers Association (NYSMATA) recently celebrated the achievements of young media artists in their annual Exemplary Media Arts Awards.

Ossining High School students made a remarkable impression, with a total of 32 students receiving prestigious accolades for their outstanding work in media arts. This includes four students who were honored with the esteemed President’s Award, the highest honor of the competition that is given to a student whose entire body of work is visually and technically outstanding.

This year’s online exhibition featured the incredible talents of students from the Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester Counties. From a pool of 223 students representing 12 high schools, over 639 works of art and 22 film submissions were evaluated by the judges. Criteria for the Exemplary Awards included unique content, clear messaging, creative approaches, and high production values encompassing camera work, sound, lighting, and editing.
