Ossining Students Win Big at International Genius Olympiad

Reese Caparelli and Vincent Chen Earn Gold and Bronze Medals in Science Category at Prestigious Global Competition

Ossining High School is proud to announce that two of its students, Reese Caparelli and Vincent Chen, have earned top honors at the international Genius Olympiad held at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Reese Caparelli took home the Gold medal, while Vincent Chen secured the Bronze medal in the highly competitive Science category.

The Genius Olympiad, a prestigious weeklong event, brought together over 1000 students from 67 countries to compete in various disciplines including Science, Robotics, Coding, Creative Writing, Art, Music, Short Film, and Business. Participants also enjoyed a day trip to Niagara Falls, adding a memorable experience to their visit.

Valerie Holmes, Co-Director of Ossining’s Science Research Program, expressed her pride in the students' achievements. "Reese and Vincent have shown exceptional dedication and passion for their scientific endeavors. Their success at an international level is a testament to their hard work and the supportive environment we strive to create at Ossining High School."

Angelo Piccirillo, Co-Director of Ossining’s Science Research Program, also commended the students. "It's incredibly rewarding to see our students excel and gain recognition on such a significant platform. Reese and Vincent's accomplishments are an inspiration to their peers and a reflection of the talent we have at Ossining."

The Genius Olympiad is not just a competition but a celebration of young minds and their innovative ideas. With categories spanning a wide range of interests and skills, it provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and collaborate with peers from around the world.
